Pesticide Certification Preparation Course

Coming in 2026! Check back for more details.

This training is being offered as a review of the Virginia Core Manual: Applying Pesticides Correctly in preparation for certification testing for Registered Technician and Commercial Applicator Core. This is not a recertification course for those already licensed.

Private Pesticide Applicators:

In-Person Private Pesticide Recertification

December 11, 2025, 9:00am-12:30pm, Tidewater Agricultural Research & Extension Center, 6321 Holland Rd., Suffolk

This course will cover private categories 90 (farm) and 91 (nursery/greenhouse). We have also added Commercial category 1a (Ag Plant Pest Control) if you have a commercial license as well.

*You can also recertify at many of the locally-offered production meetings in January through March. Find out more about these meetings here.

If you do not recertify by December 31, there is a 60-day grace period in which you can still attend a recertification and renew your license. Otherwise, you will have to retest to obtain a valid applicator license. Testing can be done in your local VCE Office by appointment or through DMV, online, or with a VDACS investigator. More information can be found on the VDACS site.
