Volunteers for VCE programs are required to undergo background screening.  Volunteer screening supports the process of educating volunteer applicants about Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and creates the opportunity to allow faculty and staff to learn more about the interests of the volunteer applicant.  The screening process also helps to protect the well-being of Virginia Cooperative Extension programs, its participants, and volunteers.  Please note that there is a $12.50 processing fee for the background screening.  4-H volunteers and Extension Master Gardener volunteers must undergo background screenings to participate in the respective programs. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Suffolk VCE office at 757-514-4331 Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00pm.
